08 Aug Whitehaven Beach
A few weeks ago I was fortunate enough to have visited the beautiful, unspoiled, perfect Whitehaven Beach in sunny Queensland. I write about this experience that occurred on a lovely Winter’s morning because it was a particularly healing experience for me. The last two months have been difficult in many ways, in my home life and health life. I don’t normally share such personal or spiritual experiences…
When I set foot onto the pristine white sands of Whitehaven Beach, I was overwhelmed. The indescribable beauty brought me to tears, and I was overcome with the peaceful energy that was present in this amazing place. It is not unusual for me to tear up when I witness or experience the magnificence of nature, but this was different. Any tension, stress, and fears dissolved right there in the ocean. I felt my heart expand, feeling so full of gratitude, relief, love, healing, and peace. Nature is so powerful! I felt amazing!
I will never, ever forget that morning. What made this even more special was that I got to share this with my mum. At that time there were a couple of other tours going on, but with very few people around. It felt like we were the only souls there. I will do my best to describe this truly heavenly place… The silence was wonderful and much needed. The soft sand is unlike any other sand I’ve felt before. And so blindingly white! There were trees growing out from the sand seemingly randomly placed, they were so perfect. The water was cool and clear blue, with a couple of sting rays peacefully swimming about a meter away from where I stood. Against the bright blue sky the morning sun was beaming, warming and nourishing my body. The cool breeze was refreshing. The sound of the gentle waves lapping against the shore was so sweet. The energy was something else… I haven’t had such a moving, heart opening, releasing, healing moment like this for some time. The wonderful thing is, I can go there again in my mind and it will create peace in my mind and heart.
I share this in the hope of inspiring you to observe and really experience the beautiful world we live in. If you have a particularly touching or healing experience in nature, then always remember it. Let it be your anchor to peace. And if you can, please visit Whitehaven Beach! This trip was only for two hours. Only… My mum and I flew by helicopter from Hamilton Island to Whitehaven Beach, which is stunning and peaceful and gorgeous itself.
The following photograph of Whitehaven Beach does not do it justice I’m afraid… but here goes…
But first, a couple of my favourite quotes “Forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet, and the winds long to play with your hair” ~ Kahlil Gibran and “We live in a beautiful world… yeah we do, yeah we do” ~ Coldplay
