06 Jan Healing Photo Art
Happy New Year, everyone! May 2014 be a blessed year for all x
I am writing about a wonderful organisation called “Healing Photo Art”. I stumbled upon the website when I was doing some research on Art Therapy, and how expressing creativity can be a great healing tool. I was planning on incorporating this idea into one of my meditation classes when I came across this website. Basically, Healing Photo Art donate lovely nature photographs to hospitals all over the world, with the intention of brightening up the bleak, sterile walls of the hallways and patients rooms. Not only that, but also to enhance the healing response for patients. Studies show that viewing images of nature can be very therapeutic. The research shows that it lowers blood pressure, decreases anxiety, patients have less need for pain medication, and it is also a positive distraction for patients, visitors, and staff!
I was so impressed with the work of this foundation that I asked if I may be able to donate one of my photographs. Elaine, the founder for this foundation agreed! I am happy at the thought that one of my images will be placed in a hospital somewhere, hopefully bringing peace to those who see it. If you love taking photographs of nature, maybe this is of interest to you…

I may have quoted this before, but it is one of my favourites…
