13 Feb Aromatherapy
This past weekend I attended a wonderful Aromatherapy Short Course at Endeavour College of Natural Health, here in Sydney. I have always been interested in Aromatherapy, and I am glad I finally satisfied my curiosity. It was amazing! A lot of information was packed into the two days, and it has made me want to learn even more about this wonderful, healing, ancient practice.
The following are some interesting pieces of information that have stayed with me since the past weekend… As people may know, I have arthritis in both of my knees, so finding out what essential oils are beneficial for rheumatoid arthritis was especially important for me. So, here are a few oils that are helpful for inflammation and pain – Eucalyptus, Geranium, Sandalwood, Kunzea, German Chammomile, Black Pepper, Ginger, Spike Lavender, Rosemary, and Thyme. Method of application can include – massage, inhalation, and use of an electric burner.
A lot was covered over the two days, including essential oils for the treatment of stress, insomnia, wounds, essential oils for first aid, skin care, and oils suitable for many other physical conditions as well. Citruses are known to be the “happy oils” as they are typically uplifting. Love, love, love the citruses! Lavender, of course is great for stress, insomnia, depression, as well as headaches, asthma, and other respiratory conditions.
Today I ordered many essential oils, as well as a carrier oil, electric burners, and a base cream. I am excited to play with this! I look forward to making my own blends and creams, and just explore really.

I am glad I finally began my exploration into Aromatherapy. I look forward to learning more, and there is so much more to learn… Here’s to satisfying our curiosities! This has been in the back of my mind since high school. So 9 years later, here I am. If there is anything you have wanted to learn, but kept putting it off, look into it! Start small! See where it takes you!
Love, and flowers,
